Farm Highlight! AVERY
“I love horses.”
Avery has been riding at Rainbow Therapeutic Riding Center for almost three and half years. She loves being able to come each week to hang out with her horse and volunteers. It is clear to see that she loves interacting with the horses. If you ask Avery though who her favorite horse is she takes no time to say, “Finny!”
Avery has become a strong rider. Each week she gains more independence and confidence in herself. Avery sets goals for herself and tries her best to reach them each lesson. We asked Avery what her current goal is and she said, “My current goal would be to be able to trot more.”
Avery has just started to be able to trot the whole way around the ring by herself. Avery smiles from ear to ear each time she makes the complete circle.
Avery's mother shared, “We started at Rainbow because Avery has been obsessed with the idea of riding horses since she first saw one. We knew with her different abilities it would be challenging for her to work at a traditional barn. The staff and volunteers at Rainbow are the most amazing people. Each and every one of them is so patient and kind. I am blown away by the improvement in Avery's strength and confidence. We love Rainbow so much!”
Even when Avery is not riding she likes to play games on her iPad about horses. Avery brings smiles and laughter to everyone at Rainbow.
